Tyler H. Alten

Tyler Alten has joined Greener by Design as the Director of Energy Management and Strategic Development.  He brings to the firm an extensive experience in client and market development, sales, and system engineering. Prior to joining GbD, Tyler spent two years working as a Sales Engineer and directed the growth of the Hospitality Sales Division at a leading New York City based technology integration firm while completing his Masters of Science degree in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology. Tyler has a proven track record of increasing market penetration while leading sales, engineering, and project management teams to meet deliverables and exceed sales targets across a variety of industries.     

While at the New York Institute of Technology’s Graduate School of Engineering and Graduate School of Management, Tyler’s research focused on energy management and environmental technologies, operations management, and sustainable system development of fossil fuel-based and renewable energy systems. He specializes in the areas of marine hydro-kinetic energy technologies, solar (PV), biomass production and power generation.     

In conjunction with a M.S. in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology, Tyler holds a B.A. in History from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. Tyler currently resides in New York City and is actively involved in the alumni communities of both the College of Charleston and the New York Institute of Technology.
